Start a new trend wear layered shirts. wear a long sleeve shirt then wear a short sleeve shirt over it. It's the best when you have a cute on design on the collar of the long sleeve shirt. Here is a picture of the new trend I hope to see people wearing!

Toms

Today as a girl scout troop we went to the Toms factory. There was so much to learn. The person who started Toms is a guy named Blake. This is a summary of how he decided to make Toms. One day Blake was walking along in Argentina and he saw a woman doing a shoe drive, he asked her what a shoe drive is and she told him, it's when someone collects shoes and gives them to kids that don't have shoes. Then he had an idea to make shoes to sell and every time someone buys a pare of shoes he gives one to the poor. He went in his garage and hired a crew to help him make shoes. They initially made 250 pairs. Then he had a party with woman to see if they liked his shoes, they loved them and they spread the word. They advertised the shoes in the newspaper and received 2200 orders. He did not know what to do because he only had 99 pairs left. The newspaper ad said they would get their shoes in four days but he couldn't make that many so he had people call everyone and tell them that they would get them in 6-8 weeks. Only one person canceled their order.  The rest of the customers kept their order because they loved Toms so much.  And that's how the toms company came to be. The Tom's logo was inspired by the Argentinian flag and that looks like this:

The Toms logo replaces the sun with the word Toms.

Field Trip

5 months ago we went on a field trip to a recycling center. There was a lot to learn like: the first garbage truck was made in 500 B.C. and the cycle of how they sort all the garbage. There was a lot of trash. Everyone should start using the 4 R's
Reduce
Reuse
Recycle 
Rot
There was a lot of seagulls. 2 girl's got lucky and they pooped on them, one of them was Macy. All of the garbage smelled really bad. Our docent told us that the landfill had as much trash as 2000 football fields filled with trash and pilled up. Please try to reuse trash every day.
